Renee is the star of the week.  She is a considerate and thoughtful girl. Renee helps other people and cares about them. Renee is good at drawing pictures and stacking chairs. Her friends are Adilla, Sonika and Eva.   

Today we made stain glass window biscuits. We had to roll the dough and cut out the biscuits. Then we put a window in the middle. We broke up lollipops by hitting them with a hammer.  We put the broken lollipops in the hole. When they were cooked they looked like windows. 

We played with the new sports equipment. Next year we will be able to have fun in the Games Zone with the new sports equipment.

For f week we made fish.

This week is T Week. On Friday we broke all the rules and brought our toys to school. We played with Toetoe and had some fun.

Our Recorder Concert

On Friday we played our recorders for our parents. We showed them how hard we have been working to learn the recorder. Playing music is good for our brains.   

Seren is the star if the week. She is persistent. that means she keeps on going even when things are hard.  Mrs Debney thinks she is the most curious girl in our class. She always wants to know why? she is a good singer who does the actions well. Her friends are Eva, Eli, Donovan and Nikunj.

Allyssia is the star of the week. She is a kind conscientious girl. This means she works hard. She is curious about writing. Mrs Reed said she is a very good reader. She helps other people. Her friends are Rianna, Hannah and Eva. 

 

Nikunj and Divesh did some hammering at Alphabet afternoon.  Divesh made a remote control and Nikunj made a boat. 

John made a telephone.

Kane likes baking. He made us a beautiful chocolate cake. We said it was delicious, chocolatey and yummy. Thank you, Kane.

We wrote about the earthquake.

We are great writers. We are using interesting words. We stretch new words and write the sounds we can hear.  We use capital letters and full stops. 

 Last night was wobbly! I felt the earthquake. My mum pulled me out of bed. I was not scared.

Last night was wobbly and when the earthquake started to go, we had to go under the chairs and tables. The table started to shake. We ran somewhere safe. We went outside when the shaking stopped, then we tidied up.

Last night was wobbly! It felt like an earthquake drill. It felt weird too. It was very creepy. When I was sleeping it felt like I fell off the bed, but I didn’t.

Last night was wobbly! It was an earthquake. My mum and dad did do an earthquake drill. I did hide in my covers. I thought that an asteroid was going to fall on me. Two of our pictures fell down off the wall.

Tawera, Wi and Hamish made our new Lego models. They will be great to play with when we have wet playtimes inside.

When we are six we will write all the words we can for Mrs Wallace. We are trying to improve every week. She will be very pleased if we can get more than 50. 

Tawera made a space rocket at home all by himself. It's got wings and fire!

Riann is very kind. She helped Alyssa when she started school. She is a smart girl who is good at lots of things. She is a very good writer but sometimes she crosses out. She is a very good thinker. Riann has many friends. They are Hannah, Kaiya, Eva and Dinithi.

We went to the beach! We went on the bus and I found a shell. We had so much fun on the beach.

We went to the beach! I saw a dog in the water. We went to the beach and made a sandcastle.

We went to the beach! Pritesh found some pearly shells and some crab skins. I found different coloured rocks.

John

We went to the beach! We went on the bus to go to the beach and I made a sandcastle! The people in my group were India-Rose and Caleb.

We went to the beach and my family did not come. I loved going on the hover board, and my other favourite thing was the big boat because it had a telescope, that’s why I loved it!

We went to the beach! We made a sculpture. It was a vulture and it was hard to make it. We had a bucket and spade.

We went to the beach! I got some shells in my bucket, and next I flew a kite. My family didn’t go to the beach. It was very, very fun at the beach yesterday.

We went to the beach! We made kites and they flew very fast.

We went to the beach! We made a volcano and it was a big volcano. I had lots of fun. I liked the playground especially the boat. I went with Toni and Tawera.

We went to the beach and my group made sculptures. I liked mine, it was super cool. I saw lots of little shells. It was fun!

Luna is the star of the week. 

Luna is a curious girl. She is a good story writer. She never crosses out in her book. She is a good listener. She is good at using stretchy snake.

Luna is a superstar and a great artist. 

She is kind and a good friend.Her  friends are Eva and Adilla.

We are learning about Diwali. We made candles for the windows. Mrs Bains painted henna on our hands. We did a Diwali dance at  Syndicate Hui.  

Eva is the star of the week. She is a super super star. Eva is good at playing games by herself on the computer. She always wins! Eva is a kind person. She is good at playing with her friends.  Her friends are Luna, Rachael, Renee and Hannah. 

This week we made jelly. It was a beautiful golden ring. We wrote stories about how to make jelly and how it tasted. 

We made jelly and we stirred it. The jelly was yellow. The jelly was wobbly and it was very yummy.

Dinithi

We made a jelly. We made it with a wooden spoon and it was hot. I love jelly and the jelly is yellow. The jelly was wobbly and it looked like a tyre. It tasted like lemon.

Allysia is the Mathlete of the week. 

Allysia got more than 500 points this week. Congratulations Allysia!

Dominic is the star of the week. He is a funny, kind boy, who is good at writing. He stretches out words when he is writing his stories. He likes Maths and numbers. Edward says he is Dominic's best friend. His other friends are Argento,  Eli, Pritesh and John.

 

This week Emily is the Mathlete of the week for Te Kakano. To be the Mathlete of the week you must get 500 points.

Adilla is the star of the week! She quickly knew what to do at school when she started. Adilla is a very  good  reader with a clear voice. She is a good  artist also. Lots of children said she was kind so she has many friends. They are Hannah, Dinithi, and Emily. 

Today we had Measurement Morning!

We were learning about area. We had to cover objects and compare them to find which was the largest. We made robots and compared their area. 

Today we had alphabet afternoon. We made some insect hats.
