26 August Kahaurangi Dance Theatre

Today Ngaio went to watch Kahurangi Dance in the hall. There were four performers who danced, told us about Maori myths and Maori legends and put on an amazing show.

We watched them act out a story involving a taniwha and a princess, we learned about the story of Pania the ocean queen, and we watched a demonstration involving pois and taihas

Mr Stubbs and two senior boys were called up on stage to practice with the taihas. They did some pukanas and spun the taihas like professionals.

Ngaio really enjoyed the show, and we hope they visit us again soon.
